Ready to call it a day

Well, after playing around for a bit, ok, quite a while...I was able to add a slide show of some of the cards and paper crafts that I've created. Again, I'm new to this, so bear with me while I make changes.

I'm having a Stampin' Up! party on Friday night. I'm so excited. My demo just returned from Houston, TX from the annual Stampin' Up! convention and I can hardly wait to see what new ideas she's gonna bring with her. I'm making an ice-cream cake to serve at the party. Yum! I'll post the recipe later. It's sooo good!

Unfortunately not exactly on the LA Weight Loss Plan. I joined up on Sept. 5/06 and I'm down 41 lbs. and 22 inches so far. I'd reccommend the program to anyone who's looking to make a change in their life. I feel so much better physically and have so much more energy. I still have a way to go, but I'm finally getting to a place I want to be.

Stay tuned for my Ice-Cream Cake recipe, I'll have it up in the next day or two. Thanks for stopping by!

My First Blog Attempt

I thought I would get with the times and start a blog. I really enjoy reading everyone else's blogs on a daily basis and thought this would be a good way to share a bit of what's going on in my life. I'll mostly be using this site to showcase my latest card creations, but I'll throw in some other tidbits here and there, as well...favourite recipes, pics of my girls or whatnot.

I'm a SAHM (Stay at Home Mother) of 2 beautiful little girls, Alexandria, 5 and Natalia, 3 years old. I've been married to a wonderful Navy man, Jim, for 11 years now. Has it really been that long! Alexandria was born the day before our 6th wedding anniversary. The best anniversary gift I could have ever asked for! They keep us running all the time. They're very active, but get along really well and love each other to death! They love to play Mommy and Baby. So cute to see them playing together.

We just bought our first house in July 2006 in Forest Hills, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. We're enjoying being home owners a lot, but there always seems to be lots of little things to take care. All in time...as long as my craft area can be fixed up soon! lol :) I'm in a corner of the furnace room right now...don't really like it in there as it's noisy with the furnace going. It's also where the washer and dryer are located, so it can get rather loud when everything is going at once. Not exactly peaceful and relaxing. My thought was that it was the only area in our finished basement that has an outside window so I could have natural light coming in. Don't know what I was thinking as I do 99% of my stamping in the evenings after the kids have gone to sleep and it's already black as night outside! lol So, I'm moving into the storage room downstairs where I'll have alot more room and I can sprawl! I've been doing stamping now for about a year and a half and am truly addicted! It's a wonderful hobby and I love the time that I have when I can go into my stamping space and create something...the hours just fly by! I call it my Stampin' Therapy Room. Who needs a therapist? It's called Stampin' Up! I can spend just as much money and I'm a much happier lady! I'm proud to say, My name is Julie and I'm a Stampaholic! :)

Thanks for stopping by to visit my rantings...I'll try to post often and offer something to look at.

Hugs,
Julie

My Second Altered Tin Can

Here's the 2nd tin can that I altered. The first one below, I used a kidney bean can (14 oz. , I think) and this one was a fruit cocktail can (28 oz., I think). A great sized can to hold all the stampin tools that I use on a regular basis. Plus, it brightens up my stampin' space! :) I absolutely love these ribbons that I descovered at Michaels. They are made by American Crafts Elements and the colour group is called 'Uptown Coral.' They come in six spools of ribbon to a box. and they're a great assortment of coordinating colours. I can invision many more trips to Michaels to get them all! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Top of the tin

Here's the lid for the tin can in my last post. It's kind of a pocket to no where. More of a decoration, I guess, or you could use it to hold a quarter or something?? lol :)

Altering Tin Cans

This is one of my latest creations. I used my Tupperware can opener to take the lid off, this is a great can opener since it goes under the lid and leaves a nice smooth finish around the rim. No more cuts trying to rinse them out. Then, the lid fits right back into the top of the can like a little seal. I used some double-sided, holiday designer series paper from Stampin' Up! for this project and some ribbons from Michaels. What a fun project! I'm using this one in my stampin' room, but haven't decided what to keep in it yet! Any ideas?
