One Layer Card Swap

The monthly challenge with the our local crafty group this time around was to make each person a card instead of just one that we normally enter into the swap that only one person would receive. We were to make all the cards the same, but the challenge was that this was to be a 'One Layer' card. You could choose to use a card base, plus one layer or a card base plus one embellishment. So, I choose the latter and what a challenge this was! I'm used to using so many layers, that I had a hard time thinking up a simple design that didn't look super simple or just plain boring.

Anyway, I think I'm happy with the way that my swap card turned out. I'm excited to see what everyone else came up with. I'll post them on Wed night.

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Mystical Dreams

I had some time tonight to tinker with this card and finish it off. This is the shadow box card that Kim brought the pattern for us to do at our crafty get-together on Tuesday night. Thanks so much to Kim for the pattern. I've been wanting to do one of these cards for a long time now and finally got to make one! Isn't it funny how you have so many different things on your list of things to try and keep thinking you'll get around to it, but never do. Anyway, I'll be making more of this style of card now that I see how fun and easy they are to make.

Here's a bit of an angle to show you the shadow box frame of the card.

I borrowed this Indian Princess and unicorn stamp from Kim, as well. I can hardly wait 'til my girls see this card in the morning - they're crazy over unicorns and horses and I know they'll love this stamp. Thanks again, Kim, for letting me borrow it. If anyone knows who makes this stamp, could you please drop me a comment to let me know. I'd love to get it, too. :)

Here's another view of the card when the front of the frame is flipped over, so this shows the back of the frame.
Well, I think I'll call it a day, I'll be back tomorrow to show you some more cards...stay tuned.

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)
