Happy Birthday, Gracie!

This one was for my youngest daughter's sweet friend, Gracie for her recent birthday.  Can you guess what the birthday theme was?  The Monster High characters are so funny...they're like Barbie opposites!  I had these images leftover from my own daughter's invitations last year, so I thought I'd use them up.  I hope Gracie liked her card.  :)

Here's the inside of the card...I forgot to take the picture before I filled out the inside.

Kids Birthday Cards

My girls have had a lot of birthday parties to attend lately, so I thought I'd share a couple of the cards that they gave their little friends. This top one was for my oldest (10 year old) to give to her friend. They have a little band at school where they sing at lunch and recess. The call themselves 'The Pop Rocks'. Cute, eh? Anyway, I kept this card simple, and just blinged it up to finish it off.

This one was coloured by youngest (8 year old) and designed by her, too. She made this for her little friend for their spa/fashion party. She even decided to add all the bling on her dress, I think she did a great job! That's Mommy's girl! :)

I have another DT sample project to show you for the newest challenge over at The Stampsmith Challenge, so soon so stay tuned on Feb 1st! Until then, it's not too late to join the current one! This month, the theme is 'Tags' and you have until the end of January to submit your project. So, what are you waiting for? ...come on over and join us for a chance to win a full sheet of rubber from The Stampsmith!

Monster High Birthday Invites

I've been busy making birthday invitations for my daughter's 10th birthday. She's into the Monster High dolls right now, so we opted for that theme. I found these free digi images online and printed them off to make the invites. I think they turned out kinda cute and Alexandria's friends seemed to like them a lot. :)

Here's a shot of all 12 that I made.

If you're not familiar with the Monster High craze, the best I could describe it would be Goth-Glam. It's based on a TV series and there's a whole line of dolls, the same size as Barbies. They're quite funny. So, the party will be all hot pink and black with 14 screaming girls running around for 3 hours. Glad I opted to not do a sleepover again this year. Wish me luck! lol :)

Happy 8th Birthday!

I made this whimsical card for my daughter's friend from school who celebrated her 8th birthday this weekend. 'Littlest Pet Shop' toys are all the go for kids nowadays, so I thought I'd print one off and colour it in with my Copics to use on her card. I hope she liked it! :)

Stay tuned I have more 'grownup card' eye candy to show you, so stay tuned...

Happy 9th Birthday, Alexandria!

Just a quick post to share the fun card that I made for my daughter, Alexandria's 9th birthday tomorrow! I can't believe she's 9 already...where does the time go?

We're waiting until Jim gets home to have her birthday party, but she's super excited to be able to open her gifts tomorrow from her grandparents and me. Hey, who wouldn't want to have two parties with cake and presents at both? :)

I'll post the supplies I used soon...

Princess for a Day

I totally forgot that I had this Butterfly Impressabilities and found it this morning!  So, I thought I'd play with it for a card that I needed to make for a friend of my oldest daughter for her birthday party this weekend.

I used the Butterfly Impressabilities to emboss the background.  Then, I used my new Fancy Scalloped Border Piercerabilities for the border and embossed with it first.  Then, I cut out the scallop on the top as it only embosses, it's not a diecut.  I added an extra diecut layer on the bottom and paper pierced the swirls around the butterfly.

Here's a close up to show you the embossing and the paper piercing that I did using the Border Piercerabilities.  A fun tool to use!  :)

Fairest of Them All

My girls had another birthday to attend this afternoon, so I opted to make another princess card like the one I made last week. I love this carriage stamp...so cute, I think I'll make my daughter's upcoming birthday invitations with it, too. If you click on the picture above you'll be able to see my embossing a bit better. :)

Here's a close up of the carriage with all the glitter.

Well, we have 2 1/2 hours of free time while the kids are at the birthday party and tonnes of running around to do, so away I fly! lol :)

Princess, Make a Wish

My girls were invited to a 7th birthday party for one of the little girls that they go to school with and this is the card that I made for her. Jim had our camera today, so I had to scan my card instead since I forgot to take a pic of it earlier. Unfortunately, the colour is a bit wonky in the scan...but I guess you get the idea! lol :)

In real life, the top colour on the carriage and the mat layer matched perfectly. It's also hard to capture dimension using your scanner...that, or I'm not doing it right! I used Diamond Stickles all over the carriage and made it shimmer and pop. It looked cute. I also added the Cuttlebug floral branch border to the bottom, but it's hard to see it in the pic...did I mention that I'm not a fan of scanners! lol :)

I tried taking several pictures of the card, but with no success getting a proper picture of the rocket with the card, so here's a close of it to show you.

This is the Mojo Monday Sketch from last week that I followed for my card.

My daughter's got this cute birthday invitation from their friend, who's Mom, Catherine is a great friend of mine. Obviously, he's having a Wall-E themed party. I thought the invitation was just too cute, not the share. :)

Happy Birthday Little Lady

Tonight's card is one that I made for a birthday party that my girls are attending this weekend. I found this ladybug stamp today and I had to get it. Isn't it sweet? :) My 5 year old daughter loves ladybugs and I knew she'd love this stamp. I was right...I showed it to her this afternoon and she's already claimed it as hers! She told me, "Mama, I'll let you borrow it, if you want." LOL :)

To go with the ladybug theme, I thought I'd use this cute A Muse sentiment. But, instead of keeping it all in row like the sentiment normally is, I inked each word separately and stamped them onto the punched circle.
Well, I think I'll grab a snack and call it a day. I'll try not to leave it as long 'til I post again!

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Happy Birthday Little Lady

This is a birthday card that I made for the daughter of a very good friend of mine. Her daughter is turning 2 years old on Tuesday and I thought she'd like the bright colours in this card...and who doesn't like ladybugs? By the way, the eyes don't look nearly that psychotic in person, it's just the flash against the clear gems that's making them them look all crazy! lol :)

Here's a close up of the A Muse sentiment, Happy Birthday Little Lady. I love it!
This is a close up of the ribbon fed through the slots. I CASE'd this card sketch from Amy Rysavy, from a card she did for PTI. I loved her card, but mostly the way that she fed the ribbon through her card and I knew I wanted to try it. I think it gives a neat look to the card.

Well, I think I've had all I can take today of being up and moving around. Gotta retire back to my comfy bed to relax for the evening with my pain meds...or as a friend of mine put it, "better living through chemistry!" You're funny, Deborah! I seriously laughed out loud when I read that! :)

Jim's been away this afternoon on a Search and Rescue exercise flight, but he should be home soon...let's hope he brings supper with him! :) I'll try to have something else to show you tomorrow.

Happy 7th Birthday, Isaac!

This card is one that I made for a special little guy for his 7th birthday. He's a huge fan of Transformers, so with the help of my awesome Hubby, we found a pic online of a Transformer and he found this space background and then downloaded a Transformer font and added the text and ta-da, we have a super cute card for a little boy. We had the most issues with my printer, for some reason, it didn't want to print out the black from the picture in the space background. Anyway, I'm happy with how it turned out and I think he'll really like it.

This is the inside of the card, showing another space background that my hubby, Jim found. Thanks, Jim! :)

We'll be heading to his birthday party tomorrow and my girls are so excited they can hardly contain themselves! They love him and his little brother and sister, they all get along really well. My oldest daughter and the birthday boy have been great friends since they attended pre-school together 3 years ago. They actually announced to everyone back then that they were engaged to be married! They're so cute together! I just don't think I'm quite ready for marriage, though! lol :)

We've had quite a cold spell here the past couple of days. Not as cold as some parts in Canada, but -25 C is too darn cold for me! Plus, it's a lot colder than that with the windchill. Not nice at all! I really hope it warms up soon. Well, it's time to call it a night and get some rest.

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Cardstock: Dark Blue (Bazzill), Flat Black (CRS), Flat White (CRS) - to print pics on

Tools: Photoshop, Epson Printer and space background pics, Tranformers pic and Transformers font

Embellishments: 18 Kt. Gold Leaf Pen (for card base and layer edges and Armour plates), Metallic Gold Gel Pen (for outlining text)

Ring Around the Rosie

Ring around the rosie, pocket full of posies, ashes! ashes! we all fall down! :)

I had a lot of fun making this card today. I've been going through a bit of a blah time lately. Lots of headaches...perhaps just tension headaches from the stress of my ceran top breaking on my stove and having to battle with the people we bough tit from over warranty. We've been without a stove top for 2 weeks now and it really sucks! Anyway, this card provided some good therapy time. It's funny, I used to hate using scissors to cut out flowers that I stamped, but now I love it. I find it really relaxing along with the watercolouring.

This was supposed to be a birthday card for a little girl turning 2, but somehow it took a turn and now, to me, it looks very far from a 2 year old birthday card! lol :) I was trying to get a head start on this card, as I don't need it until next month, but you know how time escapes us sometimes. Thought I'd get it done and I'd be all set. But, I look at it now and it seems rather a bit much to me. I don't know, I just think it should have been more 'cutesie,' don't ya think?

I thought I'd try playing with my score blade today, as well, to make the lattice design on the goldenrod (yellow) layer. I really like how it turned out, but you can't see it very well in the picture. I guess if you click on the picture, it will blow it up for you and you could see it more clearly. I don't think I'll ever get sick of Purely Pomegranate by SU. I'm thinkin' I should have bought waaaaay more of this colour before it was retired as an 'In Color.' Oh well, I'm sure I'll fall in love with lots of other colours, so no worries! lol :)

Well, that's all for now. I should be back tomorrow with something else to share with you all.

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Happy 5th Birthday, Dylan!

My youngest daughter, Natalia, has a birthday party to attend today for one of her little friends at school. I'm always stumped as to what to do for little boy birthday cards and then I remembered this cute little stamp set that my friend, Deborah, gave me and I thought it would be perfect. Thanks again, Deborah! :)

Anyway, I hope he likes the card. Natalia talks about this little boy non-stop and when I talked to his Mum to tell her that we'd be there at the party, she said that last week he told her that Natalia was his girlfriend. Too funny! lol :)

This is the inside of the card

Birthday cards from Catherine

Well, I've been rather MIA for the past bit, so I have a ton of things to share now. First, I want to share two cards that my friend, Catherine Levy made for my daughter's for their joint birthday this past weekend. The one above is a sweet one that she made for my youngest monkey, Natalia. This is truly fitting for Natalia, she's always monkeying around. Very Cute!

This beautiful one below was for my oldest girlie girl, Alexandria. She loves flowers, bling and doodles, so this one is right up her alley. Very girlie!

The girls both loved their cards and I really appreciate Catherine taking the time to make them each a card for their special day. Thanks so much, Catherine, you're a sweetheart! You see, I have to keep in the good books with Catherine as my oldest daughter (7) and her oldest son (6) have been engaged since they met two years ago in pre-school. They're soooo cute together! :) They write each other little notes and talk on the phone about all kinds of stuff. I think kids grow up way too fast nowadays! Believe me, though, I'm in no hurry to marry her off! lol :)

I'll post some pics of the cards from last night in my next post. Stay tuned...

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

A Gingerbread Man Party

I spent today making birthday invitations for my daughter's joint birthday party this coming Saturday. My oldest daughter turned 7 years old three weeks ago, and my youngest daughter will be turning 5 years old in another three weeks so we decided to just have their birthdays together this year. We're just getting around to having the official birthday party as Thanksgiving was in there and with Natalia being sick and then we had to go away, things haven't worked out to have Alex's party earlier. But, they're pretty happy to have them together so it'll all work out in the end.

This is the reverse side of the invitation.

The girls both really like Gingerbread Man cookies, so I opted to have that as the theme for the party and they can all have fun decorating their Gingerbread Men. I'm sure I'll be cleaning up my dining room from sprinkles and decorations for months, but I think they're have a lot of fun. I hope, anyway! lol :)

By the way, on the invitation, I smeared my address on the front of the invitation and my phone Number on the back. I did this was on purpose for privacy issues for the picture, I didn't actually smear it on the real invitation.

I got this idea from Lauren Meader of My Time, My Creations, My Stampendence. Lauren did a sweet invitation for an ice cream party and I used her idea to do something similar. She has such wonderful ideas. I have to apologize to her for using her wording almost word for word, but I thought it was so darn cute, I couldn't help it. I hope she doesn't mind. Anyway, thanks for the inspiration, Lauren! :)

Happy Birthday Little Lady

This card is for my youngest daughter, Natalia, for her upcoming 5th birthday. Her favourite colour is red and she absolutely loves ladybugs, so I think she'll really like it. I love the sentiment, Happy Birthday Little Lady.' Too cute...ya gotta love A Muse stamps!

I saw Tammy's sketch on the Canadian Cuttlebug Crew, one of the crafty forums that I belong to and I thought I'd give it a go. This is the original sketch and the card above is my take on it. Thanks for the inspiration, Tammy! :)
Well, I have to go get the kiddies in a few minutes from school, but I just checked the mail and I'm so psyched! Wait 'til I show ya what showed up in my mailbox today from my friend, Nancy! Stay tuned...
