Mother's Day Tea Party

I'm a little late in posting this Mother's Day card, but I haven't been able to get together with my Mum yet as my Dad has been ill with The Shingles and unfortunately not really up for company. So, I'm going to post this card anyway, hoping that she doesn't see it until I get it to her in the near future.

I used the Paris stamp sheet by The Stampsmith.  I love this set and thought this image of the tea party would be fitting since I remember having tea parties quite often with my Mum when I was a young girl.  :)

This is a bit of an angle view to show you the glitter detail a bit more clearly in the patterned paper.

I found these gorgeous satin flowers at Wal-Mart the other day.  They come in a pack of six by K&Company...I must buy more of them!   The lace is from Fabricville.   It's a long piece that I just kept tucking in around the back to form a circle or doily shape.

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there!

I just wanted to share my morning as I've had the funniest Mother's Day so far.   I woke up this morning to the phone ringing.  I was still in bed (8:30 am) when I answered it, but Alex had already answered it down stairs as she fell asleep on the couch last night watching a movie, so we just left her there.  A minute later, Alex came up to my bedroom and this was the conversation:

Alex: Hi Mom, Happy Mother's Day!  Faye is on the phone wants Jacob's phone number since there's a snake on her street chasing a cat and she thinks the cat belongs to Jacob!

Me: What?  Am I still dreaming?

Alex: No, the snake is chasing the cat, quick, do you know the phone number?

Me: No, not off hand, you'll have to check the phone list.

Alex: Ok, (as she's running off to get the phone list, I hear her say,) Happy Mother's Day!

Me: I look over to Jim and say, Did that really just happen?

Jim:  Just laughs and says, I feel like I should call the local news since this sounds like some interesting footage!  lol

Update:
So, Faye called back in a minute and she told us she called Jacob and it's not their cat.   So, I guess some poor kitty is still out there...apparently, still being chased to it's death!  By a garden snake!  For all you cat lovers, like me, I think the cat could actually eat the snake instead, so I don't think we really need to worry about the cat!

Anyway, can we say bizarre?  LOL  :)

Anyway, that followed by Honeynut Cheerios and a banana and coffee served to me in bed by my sweet little girls. Followed by some handmade gifts they made me in school and Guides.   Life is good...just funny sometimes!

The Many Faces of Babies Board Book

I have a fun project...but a long post...to share with you tonight. I made this little board book for one of my colleagues, she's a sweetheart and is expecting her first baby. I'm so happy for her and I thought I'd make this funny little book to showcase some of the funny faces babies make. :)

As you can see from all the pictures below, I used the entire Ooh Baby Stamp Sheet by The Stampsmith to create this cute little book.  I don't think I've ever created anything using every stamp in set, but this was a super fun project to make.  I used cereal boxes for the pages and die cut pattered paper to cover the cereal box board.   I adhered the patterned paper with a glue stick and distressed the page edges, the photostamp images and the sentiments using tea dye ink. I looked at all the images and came up with the sentiments myself.  The sentiments I chose are my interpretations of the baby expression alongside.  To finish it off, I went for a visit to my friend, Janice's and she graciously let me borrow her Bind-it-all.   Ya gotta love that little machine!  Thanks, so much, Janice!

Ooh Baby Stamp Sheet

8.5" x 11" page of sentiments to print off (.pdf format)

Holy cow that was a long post!   Lots of images to upload!  I hope you enjoyed the many faces of babies...after all laughter is the best medicine!

TSC30: Sketch Challenge - using atleast one Stampsmith Stamp

It's challenge time again over at The Stampsmith Challenge - but we're switching things up this month and holding a sketch challenge as apposed to a specific theme.   Follow the sketch as shown or flip it on its side.  However you want, just make it your own.  Our only request is that you incorporate one stamp by The Stampsmith into your project in order to be eligible for the draw.

For my project, I used a funny baby image from the Ooh Baby stamp sheet by The Stampsmith.   I didn't have a stamp of the sentiment I wanted, so I printed it myself using a gel pen.

I hope you decide to play along in the fun and I look forward to seeing everyone's take on the sketch!
