A Birthday card from Kelly

My goodness, I just remembered that I forgot to post this little cutie of a card that my friend, Kelly Eelhart gave me today. She knows I love House Mouse stamps, I'm always borrowing hers! lol :) Isn't he just too cute for words! :) The little mice feet watermark on the pink layer is a sweet touch, too. I haven't seen that stamp before...Humm, Kelly, have you been holding out on me or have you just gone shopping again? I got Kelly into stamping just before Xmas and I think she's paying the mortgage for our SU Demo! lol :) Ah, yes, all the hubby's love me for getting their wives into stamping! Mwuhahahahaha! :)

Thanks for the great card Kelly, I love it! Big Hugs!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Birthday RAK from Nancy

I received this very pretty Birthday RAK (Random Act of Kindness) from Nancy Elrick today. Nancy is the List Mom of the Yahoo Group that I'm on, CST (Canadian Stamp Talk.) Thanks so much for thinking of me, Nancy. It's always a pleasure to see your cards...especially when they're in my mailbox! lol :)Sorry about the poor pics lately, I'm getting used to this new camera, I think I need to read the manual again... lol :)

Thanks for stopping by! :)

I'm in shock!!!

OK, I'm nearly in convulsions, I'm so excited! I was out this morning and returned home from the kids playgroup and another birthday party to go to and I had 2 Express Post envelopes stuffed between my front doors. I quickly got inside and opened them up...I DROOLED for about an hour and proceeded to count all the cards! Yes...cards! The packages I received were from Melanie Kuzik for the Autism Auction. She sent me 236 cards with envelopes! Holy schmoley! I've never seen such a huge amount of gorgeous cards together! These were cards that she's received from different card swaps that she's joined and wanted to find a good home for them. She joked and said she may have shed a tear or 2 letting these cards go, but was glad that they were going to out to good use and to be enjoyed by others now. They really will be enjoyed by so many others, now! Thanks so much, Melanie! You're kindness is outstanding!

Here's the stack of cards that she sent me!

These are a couple of cards that she sent that just about sent me into hysterics! I love them! :)
I don't know if you can read the inside of this card, but her bag says, "put your big girl panties on and deal with it!" How funny is that! lol :)

I also received another set of 5 cards from Natalie Cerilli. Thanks so much, Natalie. Your cards are always great and thanks so much for taking the time to make up special ones for this project! It's very much appreciated! :)

Check out the totals now for the cards received. I added a section to my sidebar. Yup...received to date...290 cards! I also have another bunch that are on their way. If each person send a set as they stated, I have another 115 on their way...maybe more as some have said they sending a bunch, as well. I might lose all control if I get another lot like I did today! It's gonna be hard for me to pass these on, they're all so beautiful. I can't wait to see the looks on their faces when they see all these cards! :)

Thanks again guys, you ROCK! :)

A Birthday card from Catherine

I had a great day today. The girls and I did some running around and then we made our way out to my dear friend, Catherine's house for her son's 3rd birthday party. She had a BBQ for him and we had a great time. Her family is all so nice and our kids get along great. The weather was a downpour this morning, but it cleared up quite nicely so the kids were all able to play outside. Good to let them just run like crazy! They were certainly ready for sleep tonight!

When I arrived at Catherine's house, she gave this sweet birthday card made with some of her new mini acrylic stamps. I love it! It's a very happy card. Thanks so much, Catherine! You can check out Catherine Levy's blog here. She also have me a gift certificate to go shopping at Reitmans. How sweet is that? I've been buying a lot of 2nd hand clothes lately as I hate spending too much money on clothes while I'm in the in-between stage to my goal weight. It's not like I'm wearing rags, but I just wanted something that fit better. I'm down 62 lbs now, but I still have another 40 lbs to go. I had to break down and buy some clothes as my other ones were hanging off me! What a great feeling! :) I'm very proud of myself. So, to treat myself, I think I'll wait until the weekend and go shopping while Jim can watch the girls. I can't wait! Retail therapy and new clothes, what more could a person ask for! lol :)

Thanks for stopping by and for all your comments on my birthday blog candy. You guys ROCK! :)

A Birthday card from Jim

When I got home tonight, Jim had this card for me. I thought it was very sweet. I always tell him that I appreciate handmade cards more than store bought ones. When we first started going together...14 years ago...he used to make me cards all the time. I loved them, and I miss them! This one is of our family, him with the spikey black hair, our 2 daughters, our cat, Lynux and Cookie Bear (our youngest thinks her bear is part of the family! lol) Isn't it cute! :) He even added flowers in there for me. I joke with him and tell him not to waste money on flowers for me. It's not that I don't love flowers, but I'd rather have something that would last bought with the money

It was a busy morning as we didn't leave ourselves much time to get ready and get Jim to where he needed to be, and I was being a typical hormonal woman, being bummed I guess cause he forgot to wish me a Happy Birthday. You know what, it really doesn't even matter. Jim is a great guy that treats me very well. He's a great Dad and our girls love him so much. I really shouldn't have complained over something so trivial. I really am blessed. Besides he already bought me a new digital camera, well we agreed it was an early birthday present/Father's Day present. Perhaps I'll also treat myself to some new ribbon next week at Michaels, too! lol :)

Some Birthday Blog Candy

It's my Birthday! I turned the big 33 today! I think to celebrate I'll give away some goodies...anyone up for some Blog Candy? :)

Nacho Chicken Dip

We had a BBQ to attend tonight at one of Jim's work buddy's with a bunch of people from his Dept, so I thought I would take something...figured I should try to make a good impression as I didn't end up knowing any of them but one person! Anyway, it was a good night and the girls had a lot of fun running and playing outside. A few other littles arrived and they got to play the 'Mother' to the toddlers. lol :) Oh, my 'little Mothers,' they're so cute!

This is what I took and it went over very well. :)

Nacho Chicken Dip

3 Boneless, skinless Chicken Breasts
1 can half-fat Cream of Chicken Soup
1 cup Cheddar Cheese, lite, shredded
1 cup Mozzarella Cheese, lite, shredded
1 tbsp. Southwest Chipotle seasoning

Cook the chicken and run it through the food processor until it's minced. Combine with cream of chicken soup, shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese and Southwest Chipotle seasoning. Heat in microwave until cheese is melted and serve with tortilla chips. Yummy! :)

Enjoy! :)
