A great Thanksgiving

Well, I'm relaxing today after a very busy day of getting everything ready for the 'big feast' as my kids call it! lol :) All went well and I think it turned out to be a good meal. My parents, brother, sister-in-law and niece came up and we had a nice visit. My daughters don't get to spend much time with their cousin, so they always look forward to their time together. I think they run her ragged, though! lol :) My niece is 13 and doesn't really have the things in common with my little girls, as she's past that stage but it's nice to see them playing together. She's such a great girl or young lady now I should say. She's so smart and well mannered and I can really see my brother's sense of humour in her. I just can't believe how fast she's growing up. I can still picture her as a baby in a stroller when I got married - only seems like such a short time ago. Imagine 13 years!

Well, we can enjoy a bit of lounging today and the best part of today is eating the leftovers and not having to cook again! Yeah! :) Just a bit of tidying up. Ya gotta love dishwashers after a big meal, eh? I'm planning on getting in some crafty time today...so stay tuned, I'll post again later on.

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

P.S. My hubby, Jim made that last post. Funny guy! He really is the computer brains behind this operation! lol :) He 's always fixing stuff for me or making me a new blog banner, etc. That's my sweetie! Thanks, Jim! :)

The wonderful husband I have helped me again

As you can see I have butterflies at the size I needed. Isn't he wonderful?

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends!

My friend, Kim introduced me to a website a few days ago where you can type in your name and all kinds of cool pics come up that incorporate your name. I thought this one was fitting for this weekend. I was kinda cursing her at the time, though, cause the darn site sucked me in for about 3 hours!!! lol :)

Alrighty, I'm off to bed...busy day tomorrow. :)

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Stamps stores from road trip

I just got this comment:

Yvonne has left a new comment on your post "A great day out with Kim":

You forgot to tell us where you went.....details....name of store....I might want to go for a drive somewhere. Sounds like you had lots of fun!

LOL :) Oops, apparently I wasn't thinking and I forgot to say what stores I was at on Wednesday. I got this comment from my friend, Yvonne, and I guess there are more roads trips to be had! lol :)

Our first stop was into Carsand-Mosher Photographic - Photo Memories in Truro (on Esplanade Street, I think) and the 2nd store (where they had all the stamps on for 75% off) was at Scrap & Stamp Among Friends in New Glasgow located at 169 Provost Street - Suite 205.

Have a safe trip and happy shopping! Hey, Yvonne, if ya decide to go, do you think you could pick me up a couple of stamps...I'm having 2nd thoughts about not getting a couple. Give me a shout! lol :)

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

RAK's from my Sweet Friends!

I wanted to share a couple of awesome RAK's that I've received recently from two of my sweet friends! Kim surprised me on Wednesday morning with this awesome little box from SEI. Can't wait to play with the goodies inside it! They're beautiful! Thanks again so much, Kim! :)

This is the inside view of the card kit box. Lots of fun goodies in there to play with! :)
This is a card and a pizza box style box that holds little 'Bliss' chocolates that my friend, Catherine made and just brought by the house. Evil woman! I'm trying to stick to my weight loss program and she shows up with these! Yeah, Jim and I have already ate half the box!!! Yummo! lol :) Seriously, thanks so much for thinking us us on our anniversary, Catherine. It's 'Mutch' appreciated! :)

This is the top view of the little pizza box that Catherine made me. It's about the size of a normal A2 style card from the top and about an inch deep.

These are the yummy 'Bliss' chocolates that were inside...the key word is 'were', as most of them are gone already! lol :)
Well, I'm just on my way to work for the night. The house is nearly ready for the big feast tomorrow, just gotta get up at the crack of dawn to start preparing the big meal. I hope all my Canadian friends are having a wonderful Thanksgiving long weekend and that you're able to spend it with those you care about and are thankful for all that you have around you. Have a super weekend!

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

A great day out with Kim

I had such a great day on Wednesday. My friend, Kim and I went on an all day road trip a couple hours from home and while we were out we stopped into two stamp stores. Kim picked me up at 9 AM and dropped me back home at about 7:30 PM, I think. It was so nice to have a day away and to be able to chat with such a great friend. Kim's such a sweetheart and we always have lots to talk about. We had a great day of shopping around and had an awesome lunch out. We both had Chicken Quesadillas with Caesar Salad. I've got to say, those were the best Quesadillas that I've ever had! Yum! Yum! :)

We found a bit at the first stamp store, but were extremely excited when we got to the second one as they had ALL their wood mounted stamps on for 75% off! Can you imagine, it was like two kids in a candy store! You know how usually when you go into a stamp store, you struggle over what to buy as they cost a fair bit...picking a stamp up, but then putting it back until you decide on the stamp worthy of today's purchase. Well, this time we could pretty much choose what ever we wanted and buy it! What fun! :) I got a bunch of stamps that I've had my eye on for some time, but didn't buy them before 'cause I couldn't bring myself to buy them at full price. So, I was thrilled to finally be able to get them this way! What a screamin' deal!

What's kinda funny, though, is before we went into the store we put change in the parking meter for 45 minutes...thinking that would be more than enough time. We were only going to put in enough for 30 minutes, but I threw in another coin just in case, I said "Better to put one more coin in than get a ticket 'cause we were a couple minutes late." Well, I don't know what we were thinking, but neither of us were watching our watches while we were in there, when we came out there was no time left on our meter. But, it gets better...just as we walked out the door of the store, the Commissionaire who writes up the tickets was looking at the car's meter just in front of Kim's car! If we'd been just another 30 seconds, he would have already been writing up our ticket! But instead, we jumped in the car and drove off. What luck! Hey, that's good stamp money that we saved! lol :)

Anyway, this is one of the stamps that I got - a beautiful dress. Isn't it gorgeous? :) I couldn't get a clear picture of the vellum dress in the 'front on' pic, so here's an angle pic that shows it more clearly. Also, in case you can't read it in the picture above, the sentiment below the dress says' It's a Girl Thing' with little flowers on either side of the sentiment.

Well, I'm hosting Thanksgiving dinner here at my house on Sunday, so I better start to get the house tidied up as I have to work the next couple of nights, as well. Lots to do and not a lot of time to do it in...

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Happy 13th Anniversary, Jim!

Yes, Alexandria's birthday was yesterday and today is our 13th wedding anniversary, but Alex was born 6 years minus a day after Jim and I were married. I think our parents were really starting to wonder if we were ever gonna have kids. I think it was our way of secretly driving them a little crazy! lol :)

I was wondering yesterday where the past 7 years went, but I think I had better re-think that and start wondering where the past 13 years have gone! Man, time goes by quickly. You really have to make the most of the time that you have cause before you know it, another year has passed. I'm finding that the older I get, the faster time seems to pass, as well.

Believe it or not, I actually have to work tonight, there's an exciting anniversary, eh? Well, I just figured since it fell in the middle of the week, we'd wait and do something on the weekend to celebrate. A night out sure would be nice! We'll have to see...I kinda forgot that it's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada so I think I'm gonna get a houseful to entertain instead! lol :) That's ok, I love having the family here for a nice meal. We don't all get together nearly as often as we should, so it'll be good.

Well, I've got a bunch of things on the go for today, so I'd better get a move on.
